Thanks for stopping by Northside Buy & Sell! Please add our shop to your feed to stay up to date with our newest inventory. The top is spruce and the back and sides are maple. This instrument comes with hard case that’s pictured and fits the guitar well. All of that said, this is our best (somewhat educated) guess here. In doing some research online, we found other MIJ examples with a numerically similar serial numbers and the same style labels. Also, there was no info/database online to look up the serial number and date the guitar. Unfortunately, there are no “made in Japan” markings to be found on the instrument. We were told by the previous owner this was made in Japan sometime in the 1980’s. This axe is good to go! See pics for condition. Needless to say, there are no cracks, breaks or repairs. The truss rod works flawlessly and the neck set/angle is solid still. There’s only the slightest bit of fret wear on frets 1-5! under only the plain strings. There’s also a ding on the neck heel and a small area of pick scratching on the top. The satin finish does have some general swirling and light scratching from handling and cleaning. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the correct set of “loop end" strings in stock to put a new set on.Ĭosmetically, this instrument is really clean and has been well taken care of over the years. It came in with a set of 10-45 gauge strings (with a wound G) that are still on the guitar. We just gave it a pro set up so it plays amazingly with a straight neck, low acoustic guitar action and it sounds exceptional! Up for sale is a beautiful vintage MIJ Saga DG-250 Gypsy Jazz Guitar in VG+ and perfect working order.
